Michael Duane Pueppke passed away on December 4, 2025 in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 78.
Mike was born on August 22, 1947 to Duane and Phyllis (Fischer) Pueppke in Tilden, NE. He grew up in Lincoln, NE and graduated from Northeast High School in 1965. After graduation he served in the Marine Corps. He received a Bachelors Degree in Education from Peru State College. In 1988, Mike married Kathy Schmieder in Lincoln. They built a life together marked by dedication and passion to each other. Mike spent over five decades in the hospitality industry, working across five states. His exceptional culinary skills left a lasting impression on colleagues and patrons alike.
Mike was also known for his deep love of animals, a trait that endeared him to many who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. He is also survived by brothers and sister, David (Diana) Pueppke, Linda (Dennis) Summers, and Monte (Penny) Pueppke. Mike also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins who will cherish his memory.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest brother, Willis (Bill) Pueppke.
