February 2, 1947 - May 24, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Larry Phillip Pierce announce his passing on May 24, 2025 in Surprise, Arizona after a short illness. Larry was born on February 2, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1965. After high school Larry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, but existing medical conditions prevented him from service. Larry married Linda Rae Steffens on May 1, 1976 in Lincoln at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. To this marriage two sons were born; Aaron Christopher, and Seth Cameron. Another son, Larry Phillip Junior, who died at birth, was born to a previous marriage.
Larry worked for the Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Electric System. He retired from the workforce after working with LES for more than 25 years. After Linda’s retirement from Bryan Health, they enjoyed traveling together. They moved to Denver and then the greater Phoenix area. Cruises of the Caribbean were enjoyed as well as RV traveling. Memorable moments of travel together include hiking through Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica and a trip to three Hawaiian Islands.
In his youth, Larry enjoyed building model cars. This love of building was passed down to his son, Aaron. Larry would like to see what projects Aaron was working on in his wood shop from time to time. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team.
Survivors of Larry include; his wife Linda, son Aaron (Crystal) and children Maxwell and Wesley of Raymond, Nebraska, sister Susan of Lincoln, Nebraska; step-mother Esther Pierce of Lincoln; step-sisters, Susie Berlowitz and Janet Crow of Lincoln, step-brother James Crow of Lincoln.
